La Fille Du Laitier (CA)

Macbeth Muet / Silent Macbeth

Duration: 60 Min.  |  Object theatre  |  Without words

For adults and young people from the age of 16

A man and a woman act out a famous story about greed for power. Neither of them speaks. The play is violent. But also very funny.

Wordless, lavish in fake blood and egg yolk, bold in its terseness, incredibly melodramatic  and humorous, Shakespeare’s classic play comes into its own. Inspired by the burlesque  acting style of silent films, “Silent Macbeth” exposes greed and the ruthless pursuit of pow- er and shows that human life is meaningless in a world without morality. For everyone who  loves, hates or doesn’t care much for Shakespeare. You’ll find what you’re looking for.

“Every now and then, not very often, I just want to write: ‘Watch it’ and not another word.” (Theatre Reviews)

“… imaginative and energising (…) it can break your heart in ways you don’t see coming.” (The New York Times)
