Ein Karton ist ein Karton. Es sei denn, er gerät wie in »Boxed« in Ariel Dorons Hände. Dann wird er Geheimnis, ein Versprechen, bedrohlich, verheißungsvoll. Was der israelische Theaterkünstler allein mit seinen Händen und einer leeren Schachtel macht, ist nicht nur handwerklich meisterhaft. Aus fast nichts entsteht eine berührende Geschichte über einen einsamen Mann, der versucht, mit sich und der Welt in Kontakt zu kommen.

Pulcinella hingegen hat es satt und holt zu unser aller Vergnügen die schwere Artillerie heraus. In einer Abfolge unglaublicher Unfälle, sprudelnder Emotionen und Nerven zerfetzender Konflikte, scharf balancierend zwischen Lachen und Makabrem, Poesie und Absurdität, erweckt »Santa Pulcinella« einmal mehr den zeitlosen Geist des Volkstheaters zum Leben. What the Israeli theatre artist does with nothing but his hands and an empty box is not only masterly in terms of craftsmanship. A touching story is created out of almost nothing, about a lonely man who tries to get in touch with himself and the world.Pulcinella, on the other hand, has had enough and brings out the heavy artillery to the delight of us all. In a succession of unbelievable accidents, bubbling emotions and nerve-shattering con-flicts, sharply poised between laughter and the macabre, poetry and absurdity, »Santa Pulcinella« brings back to life the timeless spirit of popular theatre.
